Crazy For Coconut :: New Products Infusing Coconut Goodness

Coconut water/juice and coconut Oil have been all the rage for the past few years, touting the range of benefits from being anti-microbial, increasing HDL cholesterol, hydrating, and supporting weight loss. It has conditioning properties that are beneficial to skin and hair because it contains vitamins A, B, C, and E, is a natural anti-oxidant, and is nourishing. Here are some new products that are making a splash in the sea of coconut products:

Harmless Harvest

Harmless Harvest created the first USDA certified raw and organic coconut water. It is probably one of the better coconut waters I’ve ever tasted as it tastes like a fresh coconut off the tree. And that’s because it is right off the tree! The originally hit the market in 8 ounce bottles and just released a larger 16ounce. Occasionally, you will find one of the coconut waters that are pink. “Our coconut water contains naturally-occuring variations in levels of antioxidants – such as phenols – that will, like in white wine, make it turn pink….Vitamin c aka ascorbic acid, sodium metabisulphites, and other hue suppressing chemicals are traditionally added to prevent this innocent discoloration….We know you know that the real world comes in all colors,” says Harmless Harvest.

Desert Essence

Desert Essence has now moved into the coconut world with a new line of Coconut Infused Products for hair and body. Just a look at some of the certified organic active ingredients listed in their conditioner make me excited to try it: Olive Leaf Extract, Nettle Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Flower Extract, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, and Jojoba Seed Oil .

Coconut oil is one of the best options for keeping your hair conditioned and health. While supporting growth and giving hair a shiny glow, it supports moisturizing the scalp and deterring dandruff.
