On the eve of a Spring 2013 New York Fashion Week, I wanted to highlight a brand I usually use as an example when asked about wearable, sustainable fashion – Eileen Fisher.
Here are some great, sustainable pieces to add to your fall/winter wardrobe. What is awesome as that many of these pieces are available in petite and plus sizes!
Tuxedo Jacket made from Recycled Poly :: $298.00
This angled hem blazer is perfect to pair with mostly anything for a formal or casual look. Great with pencil skirt for your next interview or a pair of crimson organic slim ankle Jeans.
Mock Neck Jacket in Eco Pebble Plaid :: $448.00
This sweater coat is made from organic wool and is great for the fall transitional weather for the outdoors, and can be used during the winter for indoors.
Peruvian Fair Trade organic cotton sweater and organic French Terry zip pants
My personal goal this winter in warm, comfort clothing that still looks chic. I don’t want to try too hard or over-think what I am wearing. The pairing of the pant with the sweater would be my ideal (no uggs allowed). Both pieces will be available 9/20/12.
Below is a news segment highlighting Green Eileen, a store in Yonkers, NY that sells recycled Eileen Fisher clothing donated from customers and EF employees. “Donated Eileen Fisher garments are dry cleaned and prepared for resale as part of the Eileen Fisher Community Foundation’s initiative to support programs for women and girls. The recycled clothing can be purchased at The Lab Store in Irvington, NY; the Eileen Fisher Company Store in Woodbury Centre, NY; GREEN EILEEN in Yonkers, NY.”- Eileen Fisher Creates Wearable Spring Sustainability
