Next weekend, from June 16-17th, I will be participating in the Seed Experience Event which will focus on plant-based and vegan living. What is awesome about this event is part of the proceeds will be going to two non-profit organizations, in particular New York Coalition for Healthy School Food. On Saturday, June 16th, from 10:15 am to 11:45 am, I’ll be speaking at the workshop/panel “Planting The Seed of Veganism Through Blogging” with JL Fields (moderator), and Gena Hamshaw . My perspective will focus primarily on blogging from plant-based perspective and deciding on what you want your voice to be in that space.
Aside from the blogging workshop, there will be a host of popular speakers talking about health, wellness, and even school food. Along with lots of vendors, food sampling, a screening of “Vegucated”, workshops etc. There will be lots going on so you may need the entire weekend to take it all in. My mentor and master chocolatier and dessert diva, Chef Fran Costigan will be doing a demo on Sunday at 2pm: “Irresistible Chocolate Vegan Dessert for Everyone”. You must not miss that. Dr. Joel Fuhrman will be speaking about “Winning the War Against Cancer” on Saturday as well at 5:30. Amie Hamlin, founder of the New York Coalition for Healthy School Food, is speaking on Sunday at 4:00 pm on “Planting the Seed in Schools: Understanding How it Works and How You Can Get Involved”.
