While eco fashion is something I celebrate, promote and embrace, sometimes there just isn’t enough of it to go around. Plus I’m not blind to all the other fashion brands and gorgeous collections that exist from affordable to couture. Occasionally on YGL’s Eco Fashionable Fridays, I’ll start posting outfits that show you don’t have to wear a burlap sack and sew together leaves to mix in some eco with some conventional and still be stylish and adorbs.
In today’s outfit I play the coy, sophomore high school student who wants to start a fashion blog.
Shirt: Jaclyn Smith Women’s Utility Shirt, Blue via Kmart
With the lightness of linen and all-purpose functionality, this shirt is a perfect addition for your summer wardrobe. I chose this particular color because in person, it reads as a thin denim shirt and who doesn’t like a litte bit of denim without the extra weight. Luckily, the utility shirts are still available and come in two other colors: sea green and rose.
Shoes: Mrkt Elyse Platform Sandal
Cork upper, 1″ platform, 4¼” rope heel, Synthetic sole
I scored these Cork Heels at DSW last year so they are no longer available online. But if you are lucky, you may be able to find a pair in a retail store as I’ve had such luck with DSW before.
Dress: H&M 2012 Conscious Collection 2012 Embroidery & Eyelet Lace Strapless Dress, Powder Pink.
Love this dress when I first laid eyes on it. It is comfortable, flirty, and light 100% Organic Cotton dress with the bodice lined with 100% organic cotton and the skirt lined with 100% polyester.
Hope you enjoyed my first conventional and conscious outfit post!
What are some ways you’ve combined your conventional and conscious aesthetic?
