On September 4th, 2013, Modavanti.com, a sustainable fashion website, hosted the first sustainable flash fashion show in New York City. To the surprise of expected viewers, the models strut down a green runway in three locations in less than 2 hours. Making sustainable sexy never looked so easy at Madison Square Park, Union Square, and Washington Square Park.
I asked Adam Clancy, Director of Operations at Modavanti, what was the inspiration for the Flash Fashion Runway. “The inspiration for the flash fashion show was our desire to prove that sustainable fashion can be stylish and on-trend. With New York Fashion Week upon us we wanted to prove that there are ethical and eco-friendly alternatives available – and you don’t have to sacrifice style to look damn good!”
At Modavanti, customers can can search for products according to eight main criteria:
made in the U.S., organic, vegan, recycled/repurposed, energy efficient, handmade, fair trade
and eco-conscious.
Did you like any of the looks on the flash fashion runway?
