Coming from a big family of sports enthusiasts, when it comes to big gamedays, my siblings are avid about making sure there is a spread. And typically I am the provider of said buffet of food. So far this year I’ve been super busy and not cooking as often as I’d like. But luckily Duane Reade offers Delish Fresh Made foods from a their local kitchen here in New York.
I’ve meet the head chef before and he is a fellow foodie who focused on fresh and local options, so knowing that, I am entrusting most of eats we will have this year to them. The display is usually near the cash register which makes it that much easier to grab and go.
From the taco dip to pita chips with hummus and olive tapenade,I’ve chosen all kinds of food that can accommodate any diet. There were plenty of salad options and picked this spinach salad with walnuts and cranberries.
All the Pellegrino was snatched up but they did have these very kewel Andy Warhol editions of Perrier. DR even offers white and red sangria, perfect for my siblings who love a good cocktail. I don’t drink so I’ll be making my own mocktails with the Perrier.
Some other editions that you can add are the fruit salad plus the yogurt/granola parfait to make a dip. One thing I forgot to pick up is the tortilla chips which I’ll pick up this week.
I’m excited to spend this weekend with friends and family without overdoing it this year. Totally forgot about dessert but pretty sure that won’t be hard to figure out.
