I love the story of Stacy Edey, founder of Urban Mosaics. After her big chop, she wanted to design a line of sustainable shirts that paid homage to the beauty she felt inside and out with her natural transition. Based on Ohio, UM aims to please and spread this homage to natural culture around the country using their line of wearable art. Urban Mosaics are a line of soft, 100% organic fine jersey cotton t-shirts taking pride in providing “wearable art”. I had the pleasure of receiving two of the tees simply packaged and bounded by twine (which is a great idea for wrapping presents. They are very light weight, soft, and the lady sizes are fitted. All packaging is 100% recyclable. I personally love the messaging of some of the tees. The artistically highlight culture and hair combined.
Afro/Africa Urban Mosaics T-shirt is sure to become a staple of my wardrobe paired with a blazer and jeans. This shirt is in teal with white print priced at $25.00. I am size 4/6 with bust size 34D and the shirt is a Large. As you can see on me (in the image on the left), it is fairly fitted on my frame.
For all the natural girls and guys in the house, I’ll be letting the world know when I wear this long sleeve Natural Urban Mosaics tee in chocolate with gold print priced at $26.00. The shirt I’m wearing (on the right) is size small as well and you can see it is snug and very fitted fitted. If you have a larger frame, I’d start at a medium in women’s.
