New Orleans is legendary for being hot as Hades during Essence Music Festival, which I attended last week. So I wanted to develop a skin care routine particularly for that trip that wouldn’t clog up my pores or have me wearing heaving makeup. Here are some of the products I used during the trip that kept me fresh faced all week long.
For the first time EVER, I’ve found a bb cream that works for me. Love at first application. As Pacifica says, “Think sheer moisturizing tint with benefits.” I used the BB Cream as a secondary moisturizer, primer, and illuminator. It is amazing. It has a sheer tint and is truly neutral allowing me to use my pressed mineral foundation seamlessly. The sheer tint is formulated to work with your skin shade.
Available at PacificaPerfume.com – $16.00 | Amazon.com – $15.37
This mineral rich, pressed powder foundation is my bff. I can use it sans anything else to give me a nice, natural full coverage finish. It is free of parabens, fragrance, gluten, mineral oil, and talc which can cause inflammation. For someone who occasionally has suffered from inflammation from using makeup in the past as well as dietary adjustments, CoverFX really does everything I need and more.
Available at CoverFX.com – $35 :: Sephora.com – $35
Radiant Shimmer Coconut Multiples
Coconut infused multi-use creamy colors for cheeks, eyes, lips and body come in a palette of three shimmering shades: Bronzed, Island Rose, and Moonlit. I used after applying my coverfx and pacific bb cream as a base. Those two already provide a glow but to last the entire day, I applied the bronzed shade of the shimmer. I also used Island Rose to highlight my cheeks. The infusion of coconut water in this palette and the one below allow better hydration vs drying makeup, which is important for someone like me with dryer skin. It also worked really well in the humidity.
Available on PacificaPerfume.com – $14 :: Amazon.com – $14.00
The Eye Brightening Palette is a god send in creating creamy like finishes that can be used to hide any dark circles and minimize puffing (there goes that coconut water working again).
The four shades included are:
Urchin- An iridescent jeweled purple with gold tones. Use dry as a shadow, wet as a liner. Perfect for smudging and a great substitute for black.
Golden- A perfect gold with just the right amount of shimmer. Use on the lids or line the eyes.
Coral Sand- A satin lid base or highlighter.
Skinny Dip- Matte nude base, a universal brightener. Perfect for using on the inner eye to add brightness.
I used the golden as prescribed on my lids for easy day to night look.
Available on PacificaPerfume.com – $14 :: Amazon.com – $14
The Lip tint smells good enough to eat and works well enough to wear all day. This tint is infused with avocado and coconut oils which makes is very moisturizing and hydrating. The sheet tint can be worn alone effortlessly or as a base.
They are available in 5 flavors total: blood orange, coconut nectar, vanilla hibiscus, guava berry, and sugared fig (which my neighbor hijacked from me).
Available on PacificaPerfume.com – $7.00 :: Amazon.com – $7.00
